Digital Collages
Love and Creativity are two words that reflect
the Wedding Day. Love is in the feeling of joy and intimacy between
two people, their families and friends. Creativity is in all the
planning, decision making, and hours of anticipation. As a photographer
it is a privilege to be part of this day. The challenge is to
visually capture these timeless moments. A collage tells a story,
projects a theme and creates a unique presentation of your Wedding
Day.I photograph in two formats, film
and digital. I have two cameras with me at all times, one digital
and the other film based. Both do a great job, however in certain
light situations one format is more appropriate then the other.
Thus, I have the benefit of both. In low light the digital gives
more of the existing atmosphere in colour and contrast whereas
in bright light the film-based tends to carry more details in
the middle tones.
Two Formats are always better than one!
A couple of days before the wedding I go to the location and
take a number of digital shots. On the computer I visually examine
the colours, background and light situations. This helps to better
prepare me for the actual wedding day. I also ask the Bride for
a list of photo situations she wishes included. We discuss what
personality she wishes the wedding images to project (traditional.
classical, photo journalist or customized - contemporary art nouveau).
If a collage is requested, I ask the Bride to crate a theme or
a short story that she wishes to tell with her proposed images.
After the wedding the Bride then selects 7 to 8 images in order
of importance (based on a 12"x18" collage). If more
images are desired then usually the size of the collage will increase.
Collages are created with artistry and sensitivity to make your
special Wedding Day last forever.
Regardless of which photographer you select, have a fantastic
Wedding Day and a Great Future.......Ryan.
